About

My name is Raz Zimmt. Physically I live in Israel, virtually, in Iran.

I am a research fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and editor of “Spotlight on Iran” published by the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center.

I received my B.A. in Middle Eastern history from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1992. I earned my M.A. in Middle Eastern History (specializing in Iranian modern history) from Tel Aviv University in 2001, and my Ph.D. in Middle Eastern history from Tel-Aviv University in 2011. My Dissertation, supervised by Professor David Menashri and Professor Eyal Zisser, focused on Iranian Policy towards Nasserism and Arab Radicalism between 1954 and 1967.

My main research interests are the politics, foreign relations, society & social media of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
